From Vancouver, British Columbia to REO Rafting Resort (rafting on the Nahatlatch)

Vancouver BC is a whitewater river rafting and kayaking vacation destination. REO is only 2.5 hours from Vancouver via Hwy #1. Enjoy the best white water rafting trips and family adventure vacations in British Columbia.
  1. From Vancouver BC Canada take Hwy #1 (Trans Canada Highway) east from Vancouver to Chilliwack and Hope.
  2. Exit Highway #1 (Exit #170). Turn left at the light and proceed north.
  3. Follow the signs through Hope town centre and resume on Highway #1 East/North through the Fraser Canyon (do not take highway #3 or #5).
  4. In the small town of Boston Bar, turn left opposite Young's Gas station. Cross over the railroad tracks and the Fraser River and proceed north through the town of North Bend.
  5. Stay on the main road for 14.5 km (9 miles) and watch for the REO signs. The first 7K is paved; the final 7.5 km is gravel.
  6. Turn left at the REO sign at KM 14.5 and drive slowly down the steep road. Proceed past the first undeveloped area and log cabin veering right to the Trading Post parking lot. Check in at the Trading Post! You made it!

Directions From Kelowna, British Columbia to REO (rafting on the Nahatlatch)

Approximate driving time from Kelowna BC: 3.5 hours
  1. The best whitewater rafting adventure in Canada and the USA, take the Coquihalla Connector from Kelowna to Merritt. Then take Highway #5, the Coquihalla Highway to Hope.
  2. From Highway #5 exit at Hope and follow the signs through Hope's town centre to Highway #1 East and following the highway north through the Fraser Canyon.
  3. In the small town of Boston Bar, turn left opposite Young's Gas station. Cross over the railroad tracks and the Fraser River and proceed north through the town of North Bend.
  4. Turn left at the REO sign at KM 14.5 and drive slowly down the steep road. Proceed past the first undeveloped area and log cabin veering right to the Trading Post parking lot. Check in at the Trading Post! You made it!

Directions From Whistler, British Columbia to REO (rafting on the Nahatlatch)

  1. From Whistler take highway #99 North through Pemberton and on to Lillooet.

Directions From Seattle Washington to REO (rafting on the Nahatlatch)

Approximate driving time from Seattle Washington: 4.5 hours

  1. From Seattle, take I-5 Nroth through Everett and to Bellingham Washington.
  2. In Bellingham, take #542 NE to #9, then go north to Sumas. You will want ot drive through the USA and Canada border crossing at Sumas. You will need a valid passport to cross the border.
  3. Take #11 to Abbotsford, British Columbia.
  4. Take Highway #1 East, the Trans Canada Highway, through Abbotsford, Chilliwack and on to Hope.
  5. Follow the signs through Hope town centre and resume on Highway #1 east through the Fraser Canyon. DO NOT TAKE HIGHWAY #3 OR #5.
  6. In the small town of Boston Bar, turn left opposite Young's Gas station. Cross over the railroad tracks and the Fraser River and proceed north through the town of North Bend.
  7. Turn left at the REO sign at KM 14.5 and drive slowly down the steep road. Proceed past the first undeveloped area and log cabin veering right to the Trading Post parking lot. Check in at the Trading Post!  You made it!

Getting to REO by Bus, Shuttle Service & Air

Greyhound Bus: Daily Service Schedule
It is possible to catch a Greyhound bus to Boston Bar BC (nearest town to REO) from Vancouver and other BC locations. Advanced reservation and student/Hostelling discounts are available to save up to 30% off rack rates.
If you are a full-fare REO client or Volunteer, we will pick you up for free in Boston Bar and return you to the bus the following day or other day (an overnight stay is required since bus schedules do not allow a same day return).

The Greyhound schedule works for any overnight package such as our 1-night Getaways, 2-night Weekenders and all longer stays. Check Greyhound for schedule information from Northern BC and other locations. To book, simply:
  1. Confirm and pay for your trip with REO
  2. Book your Greyhound ticket online and then tell us your travel dates so that we know what time to pick you up!

Private Transport Options for Groups/Families
Private transportation - REO can provide tour bus and van shuttle transportation for families and small groups up to 20 people from Greater Vancouver locations.  Please call the REO office at 604.461.7238 for rates. Note that rates are per person and go down as the number of passengers go up (this is simply a cost-recovery service we offer for our guests).

Charter Bus or School Bus for Large Groups
REO can arrange charter bus service at wholesale rates and pass on the savings to your group! We can set up return bus transportation to and from Vancouver, Whistler, Kelowna or other destinations. This is an ideal and low cost option for large groups who would like to travel together.  Round trip rates from just $32 pp for large groups. Please call the REO office at 604.461.7238 for rates.

These airlines offer affordable flights from many US cities to Bellingham, Washington, just a 3-hour drive to/from REO Rafting Resort.

Allegiant Air - air fare starts at around $200 return. Some cities that Allegiant Air offers service from include - Los Angeles, San Diego, Phoenix, Las Vegas, Oakland.

Alaska Airlines - air fare starts at around $250 return. Some cities that Alaska offers service from include - Los Angeles, San Diego, Phoenix, Las Vegas, San Francisco, Portland, Houston, Dallas/Ft Worth, Minneapolis, Orlando.

Car rentals - there are a number of car rental options at the Bellingham airport. Renting a car is the best option for traveling up to REO Rafting Resort. Any vehicle would be suitable for traveling up to our resort. Most of your trip from the airport to our resort will be on highways with the final 5 miles on a well maintained gravel road. Car rental options include Enterprise, Avis, Hertz and Budget.
